Bespoke Builds & Consultancy

Custom software and AI systems built for a single business, delivered to a fixed price against a written scope. We take on a limited amount of this work, by enquiry.

What we build

Two kinds of solution, depending on the work.

Option 01

An AI agent that does the work

For work that is mainly reading, sorting, drafting and replying. The agent does the work, and a person checks anything important before it goes out.

  • Answering routine enquiries and booking next steps
  • Reading documents and extracting what you need
  • Drafting quotes, letters and reports for review

Option 02

Software that improves how it is done

For work your staff should keep doing, without the copying, chasing and re-keying. Built around how your business actually operates.

  • One system in place of several spreadsheets
  • Connecting the tools you already pay for
  • Reminders before anything lapses, and automatic reports

01

Workflow automation

Enquiries, records, quotes and invoices moving between systems without manual copying.

02

System integration

Connecting the tools you already use, with alerts when a connection fails.

03

Records systems

Staff records, training histories, sign-offs and renewal dates in one place, with reminders.

04

Internal tools and dashboards

Replacing shared spreadsheets with proper software and reporting.

05

Web apps

Browser-based apps that work properly on a phone, for staff away from a desk.

06

Documents and reports

Proposals, certificates and monthly reports produced from your data, in your format.

07

AI integration

Reading, drafting, sorting and routing, used where it clearly beats a simpler approach.

08

Website improvement

Clearer content, better on a phone and faster, on a technically sound base.

How it works

Five stages, in this order. Daniel is your point of contact throughout, from the first call to handover.

01Diagnose

This is the £349 consultation. We go through the work as it is actually done and identify what suits an AI agent, what needs software, and what is best left alone. We also agree how success will be measured.

Output A written shortlist, with a recommendation and a fixed price for each item.

02Specify

We write down what the system will and will not do, what data it uses, what happens when a step fails, and the tests it must pass to count as finished.

Output A written scope with acceptance criteria, approved by you.

03Build

Built to the specification, with logging and error handling from the start. You see progress as it happens.

Output A working system, running on test data.

04Test

We test against every agreed criterion, including failure cases such as missing fields, duplicate records and interrupted runs. Your staff then test it before sign-off.

Output Written test results, and your sign-off.

05Hand over

Documentation, a walkthrough with the people using it, a review a month later, and support afterwards when you need it.

Output Documentation, training and a 30-day review.

Pricing

A fixed price against a written scope, agreed before work starts. Any change to the scope is priced and agreed before it is built.

Running costs are passed on at cost. Where a system uses AI or a paid third-party service, usage is billed at what it costs us, and the quote says so. Prices shown are the total payable; no VAT is added.

Terms and data

These apply to every project.

Data protection

Agreed in writing first

A signed data-processing agreement before we handle any personal data. Systems only receive the data they need.

AI data handling

Your account

Live systems use commercial APIs, ideally on your own account. Development uses dummy or anonymised data.

Intellectual property

Licensed to you

We keep ownership of the software and you receive a perpetual licence to run it. Outright transfer is available at a separate price.

Provenance

Built for you

Nothing from another client's work is carried into yours, and nothing locks you to us.

Contracts

Under written terms

Every engagement runs under written terms, a scope letter and a data-processing agreement. Professional indemnity and cyber cover are bound before any client work starts.

Continuity

Fully documented

Standard tools and full documentation, so your staff or another developer could take it on.

Questions

Is the 30-minute call really free?

Yes. There is no charge and no obligation. You explain the work, and we tell you whether it is worth looking at further.

Why is the consultation paid?

It is a detailed piece of work: we go through the job properly, write it up, and give you a fixed price you can hold us to. The report is yours to keep. If you go ahead, the £349 is deducted in full from the price of the build.

Who owns what you build?

We keep ownership of the software and the reusable components behind it, and you receive a perpetual licence to run it, with full documentation. Outright transfer of ownership is available, priced separately. Either way it is agreed in the scope before work starts.

What happens to our data?

Development uses dummy or anonymised data wherever possible. Live systems that use AI call a commercial API, ideally on your own account, never a consumer chat tool. Anything involving personal data is covered by a data-processing agreement signed before work starts.

What if AI is not the right answer?

We will tell you. Often a simpler option works better: a fixed rule, a tidier process, or a tool you already pay for. Part of the consultation is identifying work that should be left as it is.

What happens if you are unavailable?

Everything is documented so another developer could take it on, and we use standard, widely used tools. Continuity arrangements can be written into the contract on larger projects.

Can you handle work at our scale?

We are best suited to defined problems: a records system, a reporting pipeline, or an integration between systems. Work is staged so you can judge each stage before committing to the next. If a project is larger than we can properly deliver, we will say so.
